if p hire are allowed to use bus lanes , will it be havoc as lots of the cars with p hire stickers are not what they seem to be. mums on school runs etc how can this system be stopped. what about if persons applying for p hire licence had to show there tax return to prove , they are actually driving minicab/p hire. any ideas

I would have thought a couple of £60 tickets in the post would deter most folks from using the bus lanes.

I don't think the tax return thing would work in that way, but there's nothing stopping those tax folks getting a full list of licensed drivers for themselves. :wink:

In fact I would be amazed if they haven't already. :-$

Doesnt a PNC check reveal the mot is a compliance cert and not a normal mot?

A PNC (DVLA) check will, apparantly ( :wink: ) just tell the enquiring agency whether the VEL has expired or not.

The private hire stickers are irrelevant - all done on number plate recognition.
