Fortunate for us we found another good Solicitorand the trade with 28 or more drivers were given leave to appeal and were allowed to work until such time the case went to court.

What is the position now Errol, Do you still have a solicitor and what is his opinion on the likelihood of success?

Can a inspector really offer this as an answer seems very strange what would happen if you did this then in an accident all the airbags failed and vauxhall said it was down to fooling the system. I wonder how the inspector would react if drivers took to removing abs warning lights etc to pass council tests.

The inspector would deny saying such a thing.

Hi all, to be honest the inspector must have had it in for me, because it was I who started all the inquiry regarding the swivel seat and airbag, a fellow colleague who has a C class Mercedese had his licence withheld at the same time; but later he was allowed to continue working without a swivel seat although his airbag was in the side of the door, and not in the seat itself as mine, now dont you think that is injustice, obvoiusly for reason best know the inspector was dertermined to have me out of the trade, which in all honesty he has succeded in doing so, if I had the capital I would do my best to see justice done to the Inspector and the Council penalized for the loss of earnings for the last 4 /5years
thank you to all concerned

But of the two vehicles listed one clearly was able to be converted to meet the criteria but the other wasn't.

In order for the council to be questioned about the fairness of that condition it would need to be proven that no more than two vehicles were able to be adapted in the manner in question.

The question, Errol, is - there is no dispute that the Vauxhall Omega should not be converted to accept a swivel seat, however how many other vehicles that meet the councils criteria can. How many different models of vehicles have been converted to accommodate a swivel seat in a manner the council find acceptable?

I think if we are going to try and help we need to know the answer to this question as it will ultimately be the fairness of the condition that would have to be questioned.
