Still no answers to my question Tattieheid (to those not in Edinburgh - his present cab has an advert proclaiming "made with 100% British potatoes) :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

So here's another to add to your wee list - why are almost a THIRD of all posts on this site made by just THREE people - so much said, by so few :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

And why is there such a dearth of reasoned counter argument from the gang of scum on Fasties?

No argument, ever. Just personal attacks.

You've never once told us why we should maintain the status quo.

Why is it right for owners to expect that a driver comes with the licence?

And, why should drivers have to pay extortionate rentals to some owners, because of the reduced number of available shifts brought about by ever increasing numbers entering the trade and the restriction of licences?

Why should plates be transferred for £50,000 when they're supposed to be non-transferrable?

How is it right for the council to stifle enterprise and reduce the competition to the bus company it owns, and the tram set it is building?

Why should the taxi trade be restricted while private hire is increasing exponentially?

How can it be right for a "leading light" of the trade to say that if there are not enough taxis then the council should put on more buses for them (Jim Muldoon - Scottish Taxi federation)?

How is right that drivers are so poorly represented and consulted when decisions are made on their behalf.

How is it right and proper that the trade is run by a few "barons" in their own vested interest?

Why should drivers not have the automatic right to set up his own business, as happens everywhere else in the economy, and run it to suit his own needs?

Why should the trade be influenced by the gang of children that is Fasties who spew bile and invective without addressing any of the serious issues affecting our trade?

In short Mr insulting TC, why should we listen to you?

Tayor as usual dodges the issue. His comments reached a new low for anyone on any forum. There is no justification for commenting the way he did on the spouse of a driver. I saw his little evil digs and they show taylor up for what he really is, a sad little creep with no life.
Will he apologise? I doubt it because in his own fantasy world everyone else is wrong but him.
Who on here supports him? Is it like the statement on Fasties that he is welcome here? Free speech is welcome but surely it must remain within the bounds of human decency. Taylor crossed the line, he knows it but refuses to admit it. He has disgusted most decent folks with his comments and lies.

You're a t***. Everybody with half a wit realises who was actually posting. That's why I was banned.

Anyway, when Milne assaulted me by placing two fingers and pressing my specs, he opened himself up to a riposte. That will happen..
He's shecht. I loathe the bar steward. But he's a star compared to the plink that you are.

Your stone getting too heavy TC?

Mr Taylor, you were the one who made mocking comments about a driver's wife. I ask you again, are you proud of yourself for lowering yourself to these new depths? Do you think that such comment is acceptable on a public forum?
As for Tam being "shecht" you associate yourself with true "shecht" and the only bad mouthing I have ever heard about Tam has come from you.
And that about sums you up as the scum you really are.

Look

Get this straight.

Tam Milne is a liar. He IS WKF.

And I've no doubt he's been dodging his tax for years. That's why he won't accept the challenge to go to the revenue.

Now you might just think this acceptable. I don't.

A thief and a liar. I don't what you seem to think about him. But he's still a pratt.

Now let the brave boy come at me again.

As for me plumbing the depths. I'm heart sick of the pratts in the trade who can see further than the end of their nose. I have long articulated the argument and, because there is no real reply to them, have received nothing but a torrent of personal abuse.

Well get this one. You guys were all wrong. I have been right all along. And I'm winning. You've lost. ruth and justice will out.

Milne is collateral damage. When he stuck his nore above the parapet he was fair game. Just like you. And Galloway.

As Sean said. They come at you with a knife. You go at them with a gun. They put one of yours in hospital. You put one of theirs in a morgue. That's the Chicago way.

Well that's the qiuality of argument the grredy grasping control freaks in the taxi trade in Edinburgh behave. So, take it. It's no less than you deserve.

Now, if you're not going to come back with an argument, rather than just personal attacks, I suggest you toddle off back to the sewing bee and bleat along with the rest of the saddoes.

What about the quality controls though, I believe you said these were an essential part of the campaign and would have to be in position before the limit was relaxed.

Infact is that not one of the main thrusts of TDO's argument as well?

Jim - your temper really is getting the better of you - after you sit hammering away like a mad-man, try and use a spell checker - it makes your insane ramblings slightly easier to decipher

I've twice heard from two different people down at Lodge Canonmills who WKF is and it's not Tam Milne. I wish the real WKF would out himself, but I have no intention of repeating gossip - just on the off chance it may be wrong.

To claim it as acceptable to abuse an innocent woman with a disability just shows the kind of scum you you are.

I notice Mr Milne himself has chosen to ignore you - I just wish I had that kind of resolve. As for your other claims - you are a proven liar who changes his tune to suit your own warped motives, why should we believe anything you say. You ripped his shirt you claimed, and he pushed your glasses back up you face - perhaps they were falling off

The Chicago way - just in case you hadn't noticed in that Walter Mitty world you live in - this is Edinburgh

As for arguments - what about the reasoned questions I asked and you repeatedly ignore - because your answers would further expose you as the warped liar you are

Yes, that's a point - an incremental and holistic approach to derestriction is better than a big bang in my opinion.

However, it does look increasingly like it might end in a big bang in Edinburgh, but the trade and the council will only have themselves to blame for that.

If they'd engaged in debate at an earlier stage instead of behaving like the taxi equivalent of the Flat Earth Society then events might have taken a different course.

Echoes of Dublin here - the trade became a prominent issue at the national level, but even then the political approach didn't bear fruit, and in the end it took a legal case to bring the whole creaking edifice tumbling down.

That's perhaps why some problems arose subsequently, although I still think they were overdone by the trade with a view to rerestriction.

You really are a complete turnip TC.

I don't care about you, ot Milne or his wife. I owe no allegiance to any of you. I simply don't care.

You're burning. And I'm loving it.

The latest bleat from Dougie Brown in the news was pathetic. But then all you numptys have been pathetic. That's why I've taken your £50K plate value from you. You're fecked. It's a done deal.

Here's Browns offering

City cannot cope with taxi increase
IN response to your article concerning the possibility of extra taxis on the roads of Edinburgh (More black cabs set to hit the streets after permit victories, Evening News, August 23).

Jim Taylor has been singing this song for years he should really give up the ghost on this one and play the same game as a very massive majority and let the city council define the definition of the word taxi.

The law states that local authorities can define the word taxi as they see it. Yes, free markets are great but there has to be a limit. Take butchers and school teachers, yes they have qualified in their respective fields but you don't get ten butchers shops on every street or ten teachers in every class.

Edinburgh taxis only have a problem a couple of hours a week as far as queues go, everyone agrees that during the week there may be too many taxis on the road. Councillor Iain Whyte in typical Tory fashion goes against a massive majority of taxi driver opinion.

The council should, I believe, suspend any more taxi plates in both black cabs and private hire.

The construction of the trams within our "hunting grounds" is going to slow the black cabs down, its going to be hard enough without a real possibility of an extra 1000 black cabs.

The council have a duty to protect nearly 1300 individual small businesses. Legislation is now required to stop this loophole. The future of the Edinburgh black cab trade is at risk, but not only that, Edinburgh's roads could not cope with any extra taxis.

Douglas Brown, Edinburgh taxi operator, Oliphant Gardens, Wallyford

This article: http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/lette ... 1366132007

Note, no concern for or mention of customers, nor hard pressed drivers, just his own pathetic self interest. This is why you are defeated. And just by a couple of cabbies too.

Enjoy it. And remember it was me who did it. And the erstwhile Skull of course. Not to forget his valuable contribution. We both aspire to being the most detested members of the trade. It's become a badge of honour. While the numptys are burning and going to the wall, the rest of us will be going about our business meeting customers needs, making a good living into the bargain, and smiling at the fools who don't have the wit to recognise real opportunity.

But we derive great satisfaction from your pain.

BTW You still seem to think that I should somehow want to perceived well in the trade. That it will hurt me if I'm not. Get a life. Get real.

Looking over the posts anyone could see why the trade is being derestricted. It's because your argument for the status quo was fundamentally wrong, a concept out of its time, and your argument in support of it was so childish it couldn't be sustained against the assault of reason and logic.

WKF IS Tam Milne. He deserves whatever he got. because he refused to identify himself and argue honestly. Not unlike you TC. Who knows, your turn is coming! Enjoy it when it happens.

BTW2 I'm still waiting for Dewar's complaint to surface. Perhaps the council is having some difficulty with the language? He should have asked, my 5 year old grandson could have written it for him

"WKF IS Tam Milne." - No he's not, and that you makes you liar.

"We both aspire to being the most detested members of the trade." - possibly the saddest and most pathetic ambition I've ever heard, and one which WILL come back and haunt you as a "fit and proper person". but don't take that from me, just watch for that nice brown envelope from the cooncil.

"Note, no concern for or mention of customers, nor hard pressed drivers, just his own pathetic self interest." So why do the council restrict all sorts of other licenses in this free market economy of yours, let's open a lap-dancing bar, with an all night license on one side of your house and a scrap metal yard on the other. Extreme examples, but you want the free market to prevail.

Also I notice your call for quality controls to be in place has been dropped - why

Notice, there's still no answer to my reasonable questions on your immediate future as you see it.

I have a strong suspicion, that the Edinburgh licensing section has quietly been walking around the castle securing each door and window which obviously takes time, it would seem that they are prepared to take a few casualties before they firmly secured the main gates.....

The problem Edinburgh has that no matter what it does, its defences are proven to be inadequet. It would appear that sooner or later just like the walls of Jericho the ramparts will fall down upon their heads.
