Ita 43yrs since iwas last in Clacton on my Vespa GS having pitch battles with the greasy mob and police! thats enough of that!!!!!!!!!!

Was invited there to meet some Hack drivers [edited by admin] of with their local council! for issuing plates ad-lib and not supplying enough rank spaces.

We assured them the GMB has no national policy on de-reg, we believe its up to our members in any area to decide what meets their requirments in their area! We pointed out that we dont believe in enriching lawyers, and our chosen route to cure their problems would be initially through negotation, and if that failed good old confrontation with the councillors!


It would appear that they were inpressed for many joined on the spot, with more to come in the post. One of the most interesting benefits was of course the sick pay scheme, followed by Car Purchase ins and legal cover. I look forward to a successfull campaign too establishing once again plate limitations!

Further to that, I think what would be a really good idea is for the GMB to get a fully licensed cab driver to talk on behalf of fully licensed cab drivers.

Yes of course it would bother me, i have not at any stage said i am for or against restricted plates, it will work in some parts of the country and not others.

If you dont like being a taxi driver, go to night school and do your o level math s, You could do english as well .you no the ones you also failed at, all those years ago . You could become a merchant Banker ,but your one of those already.
