Dislocated shoulder for assaulted taxi driver
A taxi driver suffered a dislocated shoulder after being attacked in
Northampton in the early hours of the morning.
The assault occurred around 3.25am on Saturday in Collingtree Park after
the driver had picked four men up in Gold Street.
One man was dropped off in Water Lane, Wootton, and two more in the
area of Balen Way, Wootton Fields.
The final passenger asked to be dropped off in Belfry Lane, Collingtree
Park. He leaned over into the front of the taxi and punched the driver.
The driver pulled over and got out of the vehicle, and the passenger then
attempted to hit the driver with an unknown implement.
The passenger made off, and nothing was stolen from the driver or the
vehicle.
The offender is described as white, aged between 17 and 20 with blond
hair. He was wearing dark jeans and a stripy jumper.
There were two reported taxi driver robberies in King's Heath last Tuesday
and in the early hours of Sunday morning, which are believed to be linked.
Two men, both from Northampton have been arrested in connection with
these two robberies and are being questioned at Campbell Square police
station.
However, there is no link established between those two robberies and the
assault in Collingtree Park.
Witnesses or anyone with information can call Northamptonshire police on
