Some of you may have read my post about needing more D21's due to our company expanding.

Autocab want top money per unit and have said they could set us up with PDA's but we would need to buy £4000 worth of office equipment.

I was also informed that the PDA's are on O2 network which costs £13.99 a month and have a two year contract.

It would be easier to expand with PDA's also it means we could go on and buy D22's as we would have the office equipment.

We would charge our drivers a little more per week to cover the cost of the PDA's.

What do you guys think? Stick with the good old D21 fixed data heads or get PDA's?

Will the drivers who sit in the car and work there shift get [edited by admin] off with the drivers who sit at home?

Go for the update. =D>

If you are a firm on the up then make sure you remain on the up.

If the issue you mention about the PDAs being accessed from homes is a problem, then just ensure they can only receive work via the cradle in the car. Or ensure there is a time limit the PDA can be away from the cradle.

PDAs is the way forward, and in time I guess you will be able to replace them with cheaper versions via Comet and the like. But alas not yet.

And contact a company called Genesis who sell airtime on O2 network at much less than the figure you are quoting.

Tom

That company don't seem to have too many happy customers by all accounts.

Autocab has put us onto a company called Wireless Logic @ £6.00 per month per unit. Two year 02 contract.

Several of the latest comments were favourable Bill. They certainly went into meltdown in early 2007, thus Cordic stopped recommending them. I have a very determined credit controller who 'sorted them out'.

Definately back on an even keel for us. We extended our contract last October quite happily.

I know other Cordic users have gone elsewhere and the figures quoted seem much higher. But it all depends what kit is included.
