Have you read the Liverpool judgment???? has your council ???????????
If Miss Lunt came down there and tried to get into your cab she could have the council for contempt of court, she and her solicitors are already challenging the PCO, even if an appeal has been lodged, nothing like being ahead of the game

I am well aware of the trade and current court cases but considering I am the Secretary of the Maidstone Taxi Proprietors Association and the chairman is one Dennis Conyon, a former chairman of the NTA and a man who has forgotten more about the taxi trade than you or I will ever know, I seriously doubt you will be able to tell me anything that is not already known by myself or Dennis.

What do you call a full size wheelchair Skip?? If the passengers are in a ful size wheelchair they've got weight issues IMO therefore, the driver shouldn't push them up the ramps.

I agree, they are not worth the money, but I have never had a problem of taking manual wheel chairs. Granted some of the electric ones cant be strapped but they are usually picked up by the vans anyway.

I was speaking to some fellow drivers last night and asked them would they change to a saloon if possible. The answer was an overwhelming 'no'.

The new act wont make a jot of difference to our trade as we are already 100% wav.

I actually think being 100% WAV has a negative effect on the trade.

I have to say although some of the alternative WAVs look good they generally don't last as long as the traditional HC and so are a false economy cos they have to be replaced sooner

Not necessarily the case as they are not as sturdy as they were years ago. They were at one time 10k more than an alternative i.e an E7, with fuel consumption higher than most vehicles and only a max of 6 seats they can and do restrict your earnings.

Would I buy one again...................never in a million years.

Thats as opposed to your skoda that can't actually load a wheelchair at all?

Again, everyone on this site basically concurs that when the equality act eventually kicks in, 100% WAV fleets will stay......the only place affected will be those that dont have an adequate percentage, as will be announced in due course.

Everyone concurs, except for you that is.

I would not use an E7 even if I could.
I know the TX aint perfect but they are ultra easy to work on and will easily outlive an E7 and in the case of the TX2, several major parts can be purchased at the local Ford dealer as they are Transit based.

I have had gearboxes and axles rebuilt the same day for a couple of hundred quid so down time is minimal with them.

With the TX its just a case of finding out what part comes from where. Things like brakes, suspension, engine parts can etc can all be found at prices much cheaper than a main dealer

So now you add racism to potential libel.

Happy Holidays skip.

Well I picked up my brand new 10 plate TX4 yesterday and I can only say its superb.

I cant believe how well it drives compared to the previous models. New dash layout, DAB radio, silky smooth engine, great suspension and better mph than the TX2 (which is not hard admittedly ).

OK its not perfect (drivers leg room is still shocking and drum brakes on the rear ! plus its 10 grand overpriced) but I am overall really pleased.
I will most likely be doing longer hours which means I will earn more cash so thats a good thing.

Not too sure why its not fit for purpose as Skippy keeps saying :?:
