Just a quick update on the cab.
1500 miles and not a single breakdown :)

Seriously it drives sooo much better than a TX2. I am loving the new dash too with the rev counter.

I will keep you updated on any issues that arise.

Have you read the Liverpool judgment???? has your council ???????????
If Miss Lunt came down there and tried to get into your cab she could have the council for contempt of court, she and her solicitors are already challenging the PCO, even if an appeal has been lodged, nothing like being ahead of the game

I am well aware of the trade and current court cases but considering I am the Secretary of the Maidstone Taxi Proprietors Association and the chairman is one Dennis Conyon, a former chairman of the NTA and a man who has forgotten more about the taxi trade than you or I will ever know, I seriously doubt you will be able to tell me anything that is not already known by myself or Dennis.

Did Dennis used to be in the T&G??

Tbh I would not drool over the car just yet!!!! The track record on these cars are appalling when you consider just how long they have been making them.

After so many years of ripping people off and making extortionate returns re income, they should have those cars singing. What we unfortunately have from a manufacturer after 50/60 years of making them is uncertainty, with people placing bets as to when it is going to go t!ts up and the owner after 2000 miles virtually saying..............well it has not broken down Yetttttttttt, not that I wish it on you.

Definately not a good situation.

I am just trying to redress the balance really.

What I can say is that the TX4 is a much better built taxi compared to the TX2.
There are several here that are now way over 100k and nearly 4 years old that they have never broken down.

It does seem that servicing is important and must be kept up but when it is, problems are few and far between.

Oh no they're not.

Phone Allied, and you'll get the same answer.

Well I picked up my brand new 10 plate TX4 yesterday and I can only say its superb.

I cant believe how well it drives compared to the previous models. New dash layout, DAB radio, silky smooth engine, great suspension and better mph than the TX2 (which is not hard admittedly ).

OK its not perfect (drivers leg room is still shocking and drum brakes on the rear ! plus its 10 grand overpriced) but I am overall really pleased.
I will most likely be doing longer hours which means I will earn more cash so thats a good thing.

Not too sure why its not fit for purpose as Skippy keeps saying :?:

Well you're the first person to claim better MPG on a TX4.

In London they're the worst of the LTI's to date for fuel consumption. My Fairway was ok, then the TX1 went downhill, and the TX2 isn't much better at around 25 MPG.

That said, they seem to have (at last) sorted out the turbo hoses, radiators and warning lights.

I'm still aiming for the Mercedes though, there's just too much room to ignore.

By the way, which dealer supplied it, now that you have a choice of a whole one in the South East?
