one of the ranks is situated right in the crossing of the back entrances to iceland and the rank is halved in two due to this , i done 80% of my work on this rank when i had my generals, the other week the iceland lorry was reversing into the back of icelands (Very tight need to be a good driver the rank is in the library carpark) while he was swinging his front round he clipped one of the taxis, quite badly damaging what i heard one of the drivers saying, was a 62 plate octavia, it got fixed and iceland paid out, i have nearly had my taxis hut by these 44 tonners trying to back into the bays and they never have a spotter, here is a lorry in the bays today, and some if the other taxis on the rank, do you think icelands should have moved there drop off bays? the rank was there 1st though and is was not halved either, there was a very close miss with my taxi once and i moved away from the rank for a while and sat a a motherwell one, but the work is better in the wishaw one, i think the lorrys scared many drivers off too, would you feel comfortable sitting at that rank with lorry's coming in and out every day?

The black E7 looks as though it is parked outside of the rank and is obstructing the entrance.

"Not the HGV's fault", if your parked in it's blind spot when he's turning it's not his fault.

i know, that is brian who drives the euro and he often goes to the 1st part of the rank to early, but if you are there 1st and over the break line, how is it the drivers fault? my brother lives across from the offloading bays of poundland, one morning his 06 plate octavia 1.9 tdi classic was sitting outside his house, his car alarm woke him up so he ran down stairs to discover that the car was sitting on the pavement with the inside front end demolished, luckily some he found some witnesses who told him that a artic pounland lorry reversed into it while coming out of the bays, he had no spotter either, luckily the lorry came back and confessed to the damage, and we all knew it was a write off as it look as it looked awfull the wheel was collapsed, the front wing was no more, the bumper was ripped off, the wing was bashed to hell, the front door was also badly damaged, but to our amazement the insurance fixed it :-o , we were very shocked they wanted to fix it, it took 2 weeks to fix and in the mean time he got a courtesy taxi to use while his was getting repaired, it came back surprisingly looking good as new, but he said it never drove the same again and ate break pads and dics, he go rid of it last year and a new superb and always parks it round the back now,

How many cabs fit behind the white superb??, it seams logical to stop the rank at the front, is that a cul de sac at the front next to what looks like a church, why not move the front part next to the blue car

I would have thought that the whole of the vehicle should be within the rank, not just the front wheels. :?

Why can't the drivers just allow the third one on the front rank to back up and park alongside the first one on the back rank until the HGV has done it's bit, and then return to the front rank?

I think a little bit of give and take does work from time to time.

well i would say another 5 cabs could legally fit on the rank, but there is a corner around from the rank but its not classed at the rank and you could fitt another 7 taxis there, and when its busy they do believe me, look at the top left of this pic there is a little culdesac at the back where some of them sit if its busy, the but at the church is the entrance to the main road, but its shut off till November 2014 as the whole main street is being dug up and repaved, new pavements, new pipes. waist of money really,
