A certain Kitchen installation company that advertises themselves a lot

Unbeknownst to me one of my drivers has had them installing a new kitchen

Thursday last said driver trod on a screw left lying on the floor which penetrated his foot

Last Friday and Saturday he worked normally but said nothing to me about it

sent me a text at 04.30 in the morning Monday to say he'd attended casualty (Peterborough) and they'd kept him in and were going to operate

Found out today they haven't yet operated but were going to be amputating two toes and they might yet have to chop off his foot

So I'm two drivers down on day shift and both will be off for months

He keeps telling me he won't drive an automatic well he's going to have to now !

Punter who booked via an app today.

Turned up and he decided to cancel the booking via the app rather than coming out and apologising for pi**ing me about.

Needless to say this particular individual will never ever see the inside of the Sussex mobile. [-(

Punters who , despite knowing there's a driver shortage and as such will be waiting an hour for their cab, STILL keep you waiting ten minutes before coming out of the pub/house.

But the joy you get leaving empty when you know they'll have another hours wait when they get round to phoning back, especially when they've had to stand outside the now closed pub for an hour or missed their reservation at a restaurant. Perhaps in future they'll get off their backsides and be ready when you turn up !

The best are the ones complaining I'VE made them late for work because they pre-booked a taxi, booked for 8am, turn up at 7.55am, leave empty at 8.05am - yeah it's my fault you were'nt ready !!

Taxi drivers, who refuse a fare because they “have forgotten to bring their card reader with them” so are unable to take the passenger to their air bnb half a mile away, leaving me to take them.

However, when I do take them, they ask me if I will take them to the antiques fare twenty miles away.

And pick them up later in the afternoon for a return journey.

And when I drop them off at the air bnb, they ask me if I could possibly take them to Oxford, (120miles) on Sunday as the trains are difficult.

I don’t normally work Sundays but I’ll make an exception this time, if only to tell my little Afghan friend to remember his card reader in future.

Seriously? He may lose a limb, and you are moaning about maybe losing a driver?

Jesus wept, no wonder you barons can’t hang on to your serfs.

And fourthly, a little sympathy for a driver who loses a limb or a digit, or a parent would go a long way?

the thing is Jimbo he got to drive the car for 12 months rent free during pandemic then another 6 months paying me just £50 a week to cover the insurance and licensing because he wasn't earning a full wack I was subsidising him to the tune of about £6k during those 18 months

Even though trade is back to normal the drivers are still only paying me £30 a week each and he's now paying me £130 a week because he can't afford to pay the full wack (£150) but he has been able to afford a £10000 new kitchen

He wrecked the car he was driving by continually running it out of fuel so I ended up giving him mine which I only got back today to find that he put my bottle of hand sanitiser upside down in the glove compartment and it's ruined a phone charger and a few business cards and other bits but also leaked into the wiring and I now have red warning lights up on the dashboard. I would feel more compassionate if he showed a little more respect for my property. I am now facing a big bill to replace the airbags and damaged wiring
