this morning one of my regular customers got issued with FAKE £5 notes from a HSBC cash machine

I am assuming someone paid them in and the machine reissued them (I cannot believe bank staff would have been that careless) but there is obviously people about trying to palm them off on others and possibly people with £5 notes around perhaps not realising they are fake

I know I couldn't pay cash into Santander this morning so perhaps banks are aware but the general public don't know about it so double check

Why do people draw cash out of a hole in the wall when it is just as easy to pay by card?

Don’t you prefer card payment in these plague ridden times? I know I do, can’t remember the last time I was paid in cash or paid for anything with cash. ( minimum payment ONE pound, despite the bull shine notices claiming it is five or ten.) actually I do remember the last time I was paid in cash, last week I took a large suitcase to Edinburgh, no questions asked, if you catch my drift.

I’m quite surprised by the amount of people still using cash to pay for things, I’ve took about 30 fares since I started back and only 3 have paid by card even after I’ve prompted them to pay by card if possible.

the main difference is a white line where the metallic ribbon should be (approx middle running through Churchill's face)
