Salutations for the turn of the year and here's hoping we All have a better year and that there is something in the way of trade [-o<

I wish everyone on here, and elsewhere for that matter, a Happy New Year.

Remember it will get better next year.

I was going to have an early night but I decided to stay up and make sure we well and truly get rid of 2020. Happy new year to you all.

I've been sleeping in the evenings for the past few days, and yesterday stayed up until about 1800 so that I would be asleep at midnight.

Had this feeling I might wake up at around 2300 and not be able to get to sleep again, but luckily didn't wake until about 0130, so that's the first time I've been asleep at the bells for maybe 50 years (I'm assuming I was asleep at midnight when I was a small child, but not sure at what age I would have been awake at 0000 on 1 January).

And always thought the first time in about 25 years I haven't been taxi driving on Hogmanay would be a a cause for celebration, but of course it hasn't quite worked out that way

Anway, here's hoping for a better year for all of us. Planning to make some big personal changes myself, but have been saying that for the last 25 years as well

Happy New Year to everyone.

Went out in the Boat fishing yesterday and was more interested in getting warm last night than firing up the computer. It was very COFLD out at sea, but the fishing was good, my Son and I caught about 5 stone. All filleted, and I will pass fillets out to my regulars as I pass their homes during the day today.

Before anyone says there is no F in COLD, let me assure you it was "Effin' Cold" 20 miles out to Sea!

do you mean to say there were any fish left after the Dutch, French and Spanish were desperately trying to empty our waters ahead of brexit

On a different note I see we had a high percentage of members engaging in this thread   what a miserable bunch they all are !

Are you saying that the Dutch, french and Spanish were breaching their quotas? Where were they landing these illegally caught fish? Do you have any evidence?

Might be hard to gain evidence from the enforcement authorities in those areas.

A cynic might well say that foreign fisherman have great political weight when it comes to those kind of things.
