Saw report of this the other day, but didn't seem to be much to it. This follow-up piece seems to be making a bit of a meal of it as well. You get the impression that police aren't that interested either apart from providing a brief statement to the press when requested.
From our perspective, though, one interesting point is that the driver is Wolves-badged but working in Stoke.

'Traumatised' Courtney Marshall is calling for all taxis to be fitted with dash cams following the collision

An expectant mum feared for the life of her unborn baby after the taxi she was in drove over a roundabout and crashed.
Courtney Marshall - who is 29 weeks pregnant - booked a cab from the Royal Stoke University Hospital to attend a doctor's appointment in Stafford.
But 10 minutes into the journey, the car was involved in a crash at the Hanchurch interchange of the A500 close to Junction 15 of the M6.
The 21-year-old, from Stafford, says she was left with back and neck pain, as well as a migraine - but thankfully a scan revealed her baby was unharmed.
She said: “I was on the phone to my sister. I'd put her on speakerphone because I had to transfer some money from one account.
“I was only in the car for 10 minutes and the next minute all I hear is him beeping his horn as we came up to the roundabout.
"The car lost control and ended up going into a road sign. We hit a barrier and went over it.
"We only came to a stop once the car had hit a tree. We unlocked the car and I forced myself out. I'm grateful to the people who stopped to check I was OK.”
Both Courtney and the taxi driver were taken to hospital.
Now she is calling for all taxis to have dash cams fitted and is also urging members of the public to get in touch if they witnessed the collision.
She added: “I was in pure and utter shock, I didn’t expect it. They did a scan and monitored my baby's heart rate. Luckily, it was all fine It could’ve ended up completely different, I thought I was going to die or lose my baby.
“It traumatised me to the point where I won’t get in a taxi again. I won’t be getting in any taxis with people I don’t know. My sister was also upset as she heard it all on the phone.
"It should be law that taxi drivers have to have a dashcam. No-one can understand how the car got to the place it did.
“It’s affected me physically and mentally. You don’t expect to end up in that situation.
"I’m hoping that someone can at least see whether they have got dashcam footage. People were driving past and making videos whilst I was sitting there in utter shock.”
Staffordshire Police were called to deal with the collision, which left the car with damage to its front end and side and happened at 9.30am on June 29.
A spokesman said: "Officers attended and a taxi had reportedly driven over the roundabout and into a hedgerow barrier.
"The Wolverhampton-based taxi driver, a 47-year-old man, walked free from the black Toyota Avensis.
"A passenger, a 21-year-old woman, was left shaken but reportedly unhurt."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 9.26am to reports of a car that had come to rest on a grass verge near to the junction of the A500 and M6. We sent two ambulances and a BASICS doctor to the scene.
"On arrival we discovered two patients, a man and a woman, who were both from the car. They were both treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment."
