Police have issued pictures of two men they want to speak to after a taxi driver was racially abused and assaulted. Officers say the cabbie's tooth was chipped during the incident.

It is thought to have happened between 3.15am and 3.30am on Saturday, December 17. The 43-year-old driver was subject to the assault at the Albert Road South traffic lights in Southampton.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: "Do you recognise these men? We’d like to speak to them after a taxi driver was racially abused and assaulted in Southampton."

Anyone who recognises the men is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary. This can be done online or by calling 101 quoting incident 44220507323.

Ironically another crime-related article from Southampton today. Looks like quick work by police here - maybe they should give Essex Police in Colchester some tips :-o

Southampton man arrested after taxis broken into

https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/233185 ... is-broken/

A Southampton man has been arrested after two taxis were broken into overnight.

A taxi parked on Shakespeare Avenue was broken into through the driver’s window at around 2.30am.

Around £30 in coins were stolen.

About 15 minutes later, another taxi on Portswood Avenue was broken into in a similar way, however, nothing was found missing.

Police attended and carried out a search of the area.

Officers arrested a 27-year-old man from Southampton who was present near the scene.

He was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and remains in police custody.

Another short piece based on a Tweet, but lessons here for Colchester police - caught red-handed here :D

Or more probably just good luck rather than a different policing style

Don't know if it's particularly 'shocking' either :?

A SHOCKING image shows a Glasgow taxi window smashed after a 'break-in'.

Glass from the window lies in tiny pieces on the ground where the car was parked on Clifford Street in the city's Kinning Park.

Officers from Govan allegedly caught a 31-year-old man breaking into other cars in the street on Friday night.

He was held in custody to attend court today.
