Not much to go on here, but this reads like the taxi and driver identities are known by police, but they just want witnesses into what happened. Some sort of argument, I'd guess...


Man dragged along road by taxi in Newmarket

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured when a taxi drove off, dragging him along the road in Newmarket.

The incident happened between 11pm and midnight on 15 December after the victim leaned into the vehicle to speak to the driver on one of the High Street taxi ranks. He suffered leg and arm injuries after the driver drove off.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Suffolk Police, quoting crime reference 37/72708/23.
