Can the council download the UBER passenger app so that they can see where the cars are or would that be a breach of RIPA?

I can't see it as a problem.

Uber choose to make it Public, so it must surely be Public Domain.

RIPA is "Investigation" which normally, but I suppose not always, is "Historical". Uber only show "Live" and not historical I should think.

Surely you wouldn't be after just Uber though, what about the firms with a Wolves Ops License using Wolverhampton PHVs outside of the Wolverhampton district area?

That would also be considered in breach of this 1976 Act malarkey? Sat outside of their district area waiting for a job?

Ours say they can't.

On what grounds?

They didn't say. Which is why I asked here. I think they can but i don't think they want the hassle of having to do enforcement.
