i hate to ask but is there a small reliable card reader or app for a phone to take cards?

pay pal do both i have the card reader but when I am out without it I can use the app
its called paypal here

No paypal here app is different it is linked to your paypal account
but not the same
try a google for paypal card reader

Sumup are very good and their contactless terminals are reliable.

Square.

£19 plus vat for the terminal, no monthly fees, 1.75% charge, paid into your bank the next day, chip and pin, contactless, and manual for remote payment. Easy to use on phone or tablet. I find it quicker and easier than cash, and the punters just love it.
Third cab on the station rank on Monday, and a guy asked me if he could pay by card. The two in front of me didn’t have readers. So I got the job. To Birmingham. :D taking the punter to a cash point isn’t an option for someone with a company credit card.

My PayPal reader is now kept as a reader of last resort. Very hit and miss connecting via Bluetooth.

one of my drivers is using square I get customer complaints about it frequently not working. I am using izettle and it hasn't failed to take the payment once

Why would customers complain if a card reader doesn’t work, which means they don’t pay, Shirley?

Things will improve when Stamford gets a mobile phone signal I suppose, bur a manual payment is possible without a signal. Has your driver switched the reader on?

Cash points are thin on the ground in the middle of nowhere, or South Lincolnshire as it is commonly known...

We have drivers that use Sum-up for incar payments. in the office we use the advance payment system on our Datamaster. It is easy for the customer to use and costs very little.
