We have just placed an order for the 2016 model Toyota Prius Business edition. It should be delivered in about 8 weeks. |

![]() we've 5 of them so far and they're nice and quite good but totally useless if you're night driver with heavy foot... drives on electric up to 30mph and everything over is a petrol.... so not for me at all, not a huge legroom at the back and seems quite heavy when you drive it... good idea but I'll wait for tesla to decrease their prices otherwise as I said is useless... |

Accelerate up to 40, lift off the accelerator and the engine should cut out. Then give it a light throttle to maintain the speed. If you're in EV mode then yes it'll start the engine above a certain speed (20mph in the Auris).Don't know if it's the same in the Prius but if you keep the eco gauge just below the tick mark in the middle of the eco range it stays in electric up to 42mph, if there's enough juice in the battery. Saying all that I'm told just drive it like a normal car, the technology will switch between the different modes depending on what it thinks will give the best economy. |

Just think you could sit at your local Asda charging point all day, waiting for the call to pick up there |

If you've selected EV mode it will deactivate when you reach 20mph but will stay on battery power all the way to 42mph if the throttle isn't pressed too far down. The engine will always start whenever you press the accelerator beyond a certain point.
