First post on here so be gentle with me......... 58 reg E7... Ok..... bushes on my front anti roll bar are gubbed. usual knocking from front end when driving straight ahead. What I need to know is are the bushes replaceable. As far as I'm aware, I have the new type anti roll bar fitted as with the older type you had to replace the whole anti roll bar. Ta muchly Hi mate welcome to the money pit that is the E7. I think you've got to replace the whole anti roll bar mate, there's no point putting new rubbers into an old Anti Roll Bar, for a few quid extra I'd re-new the whole lot. |

Well fingers crossed so far this is the first problem I've had. I have my own garage and workshop here so doing the job isn't a problem, it's just if the bushes can be replaced on their own without doing the bar cos as far as I know you have to drop the subframe to replace the bar which is a pain. This is the first time they've went. I used to replace the bushes on my old metro rear ARB as a matter of course every year before inspection so the ones on the E7 going now isn't anything unusual. |

Ta muchly The bushes aren't replaceable by themselves, it's the whole roll bar I'm afraid. For your 58 reg model it's the old type, the new type have only just started being used. |

Quote: I am really sorry I parted with 54 plate E7. This is the worst vehicle I have ever experienced in my life. I have had the anti roll bar/bushes replaced twice, the drop link bushes, the front taxi sign blew because of water ingress, the front nearside door won’t open from the inside, the front offside window regulator has had to be replaced, the side steps have had five motors and six micro switches, the trim is falling apart because it is held together with self tapping screws, the ramp is knackered, the rear door opening sign was replaced because of water, and now the flywheel is knackered and Peugeot are back heeling it because they are unlawfully saying that after I bought the vehicle with a 100,000 mile warranty they have reduced the warranty on the clutch to 20,000 because they are paying too much out to replace the faulty clutches. This is illegal and I am taking it up with Consumer Direct. I also intend to write about this heap in the taxi trade press and hope that everyone who has had similar problems does like wise. Besides all of the above my E7 was recalled by VOSA because of a potential fire risk caused by the routing of the return fuel pipe. Unfortunatly because VOSA recalled the vehicles under their brand and model, i.e. Expert Teepee, Peugeot escaped the action meted out to LTi TX4s because VOSA were not aware that these firetraps were passenger carrying vehicles!

Nah you were right, it's the old type I've got. But gonna have a go at splitting the clamps. Don't see why not as looks like just a spot weld holds both halves together, should drill out, then I can replace with new bushes instead of 140 squid for a new one. Anyone confirm that the bar will come out without dropping the subframe. I've been told I should be able to manoeuvre it out ok. |

Would be no harm done, if not a success I'm gonna have to get a new bar anyway. Now if I can split the brackets...... ideal outcome is to be able to source polyurethane bushes which would last for years ie fit and forget. Now wouldn't that be nice.... now why don't Peugeot just do it that way in the first place...or is that too easy. I keep you posted how it goes. |

I keep you posted how it goes. I am sure you can get the polyurethane bushes but cannot remember where from check on the Peugeot owners web site |
