Picked up two women from the station took them 300 yards to nearest pub because of the rain, when we get there one of them says "can I ask you a favour?" we got this shopping and don't want to carry it with us while we are out on the town can you take it back to your office and we will collect it in the morning, when I politely refused and said the office did not accept lost propertythey got all upset and said what would you do if we just left it in the car where would you takeit,I said police station and they said well do that then. when I suggested they asked the landlord to look after it they said pubs were not there to do that sort of thing,it then became rather unpleasant, there must be easier ways to earn £2 80.

What they could have done is one of them take it into the police station saying they had just found it, then when they were ready to go home the other could have gone back and re-claimed it.
