The AA tried that with me; I went with an on-line provider for less than a third of the price and that included European cover.
Any name/help on that one would be welcome.
Knowing full well that I would not have directly signed to say "Help yourself to MY money" I looked at the junk mail they send with quotes etc, and there it was in, the "Terms and Conditions". I have to be honest, it is not often that I read these encyclopedias that are in my opinion written to bore you/me to death, so basically you end up not reading them, of which I am sure is the intention. At the moment I am waiting for them to reply to my email that can take a whole 5 days for a reply (not impressed).
We paid over the phone with our "Master Card" last year, putting the money into the account once the bill arrives, as such there is no direct debit, but! I would imagine if ignored then they will use that Master Card number to extract the amount they want. It makes me bloody furious in the sense that if I forgot about it, or the reminder never arrived..........then they just help themselves to whatever.
Reading the advice of others on here is always an option! on the other hand, a total cancellation (providing I can get alternative cover) is the direct, do not touch my account message.
