Skys days are numbered in our house

all you need to do mate is buy a fire stick form argos or somewhere 35 quid here

plug it in you're tv set (need a HDMI port on the telly)

then load kodie on in , loads of tutorials on youtube example here

then basically watch any movie/boxset/football etc for free, depends what you like but some add ons have old comedies like all the old love thy neighbour/dads army etc , its the best £35 you will ever spend mate ( although not to good for "live tv" i find)

now having said that there is another way if you want to have pretty much what you have now with sky, all live tv , i have had a zgemma box for years now & it works exactly the same as sky/virgin, the boxes are about £60/£70 ( better ones out there, like owt else it depends what you wanna pay,) i find the gemma fine for me though, to by then you need a sub, these subs range form anywhere tbh , i pay £35 py & never had a problem although i do find the cheaper subs aint worth it zgem example, you can pause/rewind the stations on the gemma & because its a twin tuner you can also record 2 channels while viewing another, its exactly the same as sky tbh , hope this helps, any questions just ask, im no expert but have had these boxes for years & i am a great bloke !

If you take the time to read your own post and more importantly understand it -you will find that you (I'm not so sure now  ) explained 1) the cost, 2) the different types of sticks etc, and 3) what you/we can do with them..........there again perhaps someone has hacked your account

On the basis that you knew what you were on about, I said "cheers m'dear".......in other words - thank you.......phew #-o

I might keep the sky box/dish for the free service or get a freeview recorder box or a Freesat recorder box, but the firestick is also on the list

what would i lose if i drop the Sky subscription? I like Quest and Discovery

I dont have sky sports

i was with virgin mate, all i done was bought a dish off ebay, got a sat engineer to fit it & run 2 cables in to the house from it , if you already have sky you wont need to do anything , just connect it up 2cables from the dish to the box, lan from box to router, cable from box to tv, thats it
