I don't think that link was anything to do with me.
However, what about the stoning of apostates? I'm almost certain I read that somewhere in the Qur'an, although I did find it very confusing?

Nope it didnt have anything to do with what is being discussed here....just thought id share the link.
About the stoning. Opinions wary from yes to no to whatever. Each country practices it differently. Probably Saudi and Iran are the only two places that actively practice it probably.
Anyway, you have mentioned a lot of negatives about religion. Do you think there are any positives?

How can the stoning of apostates vary? It's either in the Qur'an, or it's not, and if it is, then surely the literal word of God should be obeyed by its followers, or it's not the word of God?
To be honest, no positives, I'm afraid.

Oh I know that people of religious faith do a lot of good around the world but I don't really think it has much to do with religion.
I'm a great believer in - “With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things.
But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.”― Steven Weinberg
Sorry, to cut and paste, but I couldn't have put it better myself.
