lol I have a feeling you don't drive a cab in Manchester. If you did you wouldn't be so ignorant as to the "POTENTIAL" earning figures.

I suppose you have never done any credit work so just for you I'll explain how it works.

Here in Manchester we have a very successful Radio Company called Mantax. One of the reasons why Mantax have been able to keep the radio rent fixed at its current level for the past seven years is because of its high volume of credit work.

A high volume of that credit work is undertaken at reduced rates because of the amount of work it generates. Tenders have to be submitted for this high volume account work which means those tenders have to be competitive.

Therefore, accounts such as Hospitals and likewise the Railways have a set lower mileage rate for the work that ends outside the Manchester Boundary.

If you were to go to Wigan on the Blood bank account you will get 35.00. that works out at about 1.40 a mile. by the time you get back to Manchester you have completed nearly 50 miles for that 35 pounds.

If you go to Birmingham on the Railways account you will get 124.00, by the time you get back you have completed nearly 180 miles for that 124 pounds. Is it sinking in yet?

It is quite obvious that you have no understanding of School jobs and the high figures that some school jobs can generate. If I told you the earnings that some School jobs generate you wouldn't believe it so I won't bother.

50.00 a day is an average school job which I quoted thats 25.00 each trip Morning and Afternoon. If you think I'm wrong or mistaken then by all means tell me your expert opinion of what the average school job is.

lol I had a little laff at this comment. I thought it was farely obvious who I was refering to. If you want to make a big issue about a TYPO then by all means do so. However, it just highlights the baron nature of your argument. I have corrected many a typo from people who have posted in this forum and not once have I sought to capitalise on it. You may rest assured that I wont retrace all your typos and hold you to account lol So for all those who read the post and didn't realise I was refering to this gentlemans Night Man I now put the record straight. lol

On Mantax feeding has never been a problem with me, there is not a lot of it and there is more than enough good work to go around. It obviously doesnt bother you either because your happy making less money without a radio, than with one.

Do you want to know what I earned over the weekend? lol

Keep smiling cocker it wont be long before that night man of yours will be spending his 200 quid on his own cab.

Best wishes

JD

JD,
My post of yesterday has disappeared from the Forum.
Why I dont know.
This is my final post on this subject as I think it has run its course.
I wonder , have you ever asked yourself ''why'' Mantaax have not used their GPS system which they have had for over two years ?
This system will allocate ''jobs'' to the nearest driver without interference from the operator.
The most succesful taxi radio system in the UK use this and have 24 operators just answering the phone and input the work into computers which then give the job (by data ) to the nearest driver.
So, why are Mantax not using this after more than two years with it ?
Additionally, you can ask the majority of non radio drivers why they quit mantax and prefer to work without a radio.
Finally, Ged, yes I know you and probably JD and other drivers but hope you dont recognise me.

Mantax are trialing the gprs system on Airtax in the coming weeks. The reason they are using Airtax is because it is a smaller system and less complex than Mantax. Mantax want to get it right before they fully introduce it to the Mantax System.

Best wishes

M/C Guest,
I must bow to your wish to remain anonymous but it is very unfair if you know me. After all I am the most kind, generous, handsome and above all honest (if you do know me you will know which of the previous are lies) So let me know who you are.

JD,

I had to force myself to come out of retirement to answer your last post.
Mantax have had the GPS system for well over two years so its an interesting question as to why they have not used it ?
Rumour has it that they spent 1/2 million to set it up.
It wont work very well on Airtax as they have less than 60 radios out and a lot of their work is done by Mantax.
A lot of drivers hardly use the radio.
Rumour has it that Airtax office will be shut (at least at night time) and work will be put out on GPS to save on staff costs.
I still say mantax feed and that is why GPS has not been implemented.
Ask the hundreds of ex mantax drivers.
Ged, I know you but you dont know me as such.
I have seen you recently but we have not spoken (due to lack of opportunity) in more than a year.
I now return to retirement !

We have a taxi firm in Brighton that spent many tens of thousands on a GPS system. Worked it for a few weeks then turned it off for the last couople of years.
I bet ariuga couldnt believe there luck when they sold them it.

LOL I thought that was quite funny.
Seems like you are on a fishing trip.
Joe Thorley ? No, He's a nice enough guy, does a lot for the trade but a bit dry for my liking.
Keep trying...........]

Manchester Guest,
This is because some of the plonkers we have in the trade,or most so the newer lads, telling people what a fortune they make.
If they sat down and did a realistic profit and loss excercise, they would
mess themselves.
New vehicle,no running costs!poppycock, sooner people in the trade realise,to make a decent living, with the hours you have to do,gives you a living, not a fortune.
Only people making lots of money is the offices.

P.Auper.

That is the biggest problem with the taxi trade very few know how much they really earn they do not run it as a business. They feel content because they have a wad of notes in their pocket, to most it is a hand to mouth existance.
