Here are the reasons why Liverpool wouldn't licence the E7.
I'm particularly concerned about the second reason because it implies there are two types of public. Namely, Private hire public and Hackney carriage public. It would seem that Liverpool council think the Private hire public are safe to travel in the E7 but the Hackney carriage public are not.
If the sliding doors are a safety issue, perhaps Liverpool council should stop licensing the E7 as a private hire vehicle? I just wonder if a private hire member of the public got in a private hire vehicle one day and a Hackney carriage the next how would the council categorise him?
Perhaps we should ask Liverpool council how they they tell a private hire member of the public from a hackney carriage member?

* the Committee has particular concerns over the safety issues regarding
