next scenario
customer wants picking up from village a only 1.5 miles from main post office within your licensing area but 200 yards over the border to go to a village just up the road also less than 3 miles from main Post office but also outside the border would you be covered ?
I'm losing the will to live!
Nothing new. As long as it's pre-booked and it's an adjacent authority you will be insured.
What Tradex are trying to do is to stop the scammers that get licenced in Cornwall (for example), and then go and work miles away - to get cheaper insurance premiums.
If you do an airport job and are lucky enough to get a return booking, that is also fine - as long as it's pre-booked through your usual licensed operator.
You are all reading far too much into this. Granted, Tradex could have gone about it in a better way, rather than stirring up a hornet's nest but if you're working properly and are not trying to scam the system, nothing has changed!
