NO SIGNIFICANT UNMET DEMAND!!!!!!!!
I think if Jacobs came back with a little SUD and issued 50 plates then that, in the long term, would have been better for the existing plate holders.
Thank f*** they didn't.

Except, we all know that the council always knew that Jacobs would be delivering no SUD. That was why they were choses from the tender list.
remember they weren't the cheapest, nor the most comprehensive. It was a clear choice by the council that they were awarded the contract. Of course they won't give us the reason, and of course how convenient it is that the council doesn't minute anything of what takes place at committee meetings. Seems little more than corrupt to me.
Jacobs was only ever about denying licences. The delaying tactic was only ever about allowing Jacob time to come into the frame to deny licences. This was only ever about denying licences.
The truth is that these applications were never considered on their merit, something the council is duty bound to do.
As for myself, my application will be argued on Law and logic. But the council will deny my application. Even though there 41 applications will need to be granted, even though the interested parties list will need to be granted. But my application meeting was always only ever about laying out the argument in such a way as to prepare the grounds for the appeal. I believe that the courst will adhere to law and logic and grant me my licence - yet another bloody nose for the council.
Of course, rather than deal with the matter in this sullied RC, the councils further delaying tactics just mean that the next RC wilkl start its working life just as sullied. How can there ever be any respect between the opposing sides in such circumstances.
All of this proves that the only way to deal with draconian councils is to batter them. They are storing up grief, not only on this issue, but all the issues we have yet to raise - disciplinary procedures, quality controls, wheelchair policy etc.
Seems they are quite happy, in the absence of real political leadership, to accept this strategy and revel in the hardest working life imaginable.
Bring it on though, eh?
