Gary, over 30 years ago I was stabbed, was in intensive care for over a week, long story short, survived.
20 years ago I was hit by a motorbike, and 11 operations & 3 years later, was fit enough to make a fool o' masel on a golf course. I was in a wheelchair for a long time, and used crutches and a walking stick for years. I class myself as being lucky. I was fortunate enough to have the best Orthapaedic/Plastic Surgeons and Nursing Staff in the World help me get better. (no tae' mention the wee auxillary women that made me cups o' tea at 3 & 4 in the mornin') I also have Family and friends that are second to none. However, the person that played the biggest part in my recovery was, me. That's not being arrogant or unappreciative of the help I got from others, ( I got loads). I consciously made an effort to think positively, still do, and appreciate the things I have and can do, rather than moaning about the things that are wrong. I Am totally aware that there are people out there that have had it far tougher than me, as I said, I feel lucky. For you though Gary, am' afraid that the glass will always be half empty.
