Gary, over 30 years ago I was stabbed, was in intensive care for over a week, long story short, survived.
20 years ago I was hit by a motorbike, and 11 operations & 3 years later, was fit enough to make a fool o' masel on a golf course. I was in a wheelchair for a long time, and used crutches and a walking stick for years. I class myself as being lucky. I was fortunate enough to have the best Orthapaedic/Plastic Surgeons and Nursing Staff in the World help me get better. (no tae' mention the wee auxillary women that made me cups o' tea at 3 & 4 in the mornin') I also have Family and friends that are second to none. However, the person that played the biggest part in my recovery was, me. That's not being arrogant or unappreciative of the help I got from others, ( I got loads). I consciously made an effort to think positively, still do, and appreciate the things I have and can do, rather than moaning about the things that are wrong. I Am totally aware that there are people out there that have had it far tougher than me, as I said, I feel lucky. For you though Gary, am' afraid that the glass will always be half empty.

Ali, you won't be posting any letter of objection from me mate. I've never objected to you or anyone else, never will. I keep repeating masel but yer braggin' will ruffle the feathers o' some people the wrong way, and I'm guessing they might object. But no' me. As far as the, "life story, self gratifying [edited by admin]", is concerened, there were no boasts in it, ( I said I felt lucky)
The point was some people count their blessings.

ps I have received PMs but I respect the fact that they're PRIVATE.

What are you on about“the glass will always be half empty”? Simply, because I choose not to delude myself doesn't mean I have a negative outlook on life. On the contrary, I would rather know the truth of a situation, no matter how unpalatable, then looking at things through rose-tinted glasses. I, like you, look to the future in a positive light, only I refuse to deceive myself on the journey. :-|

I think Fairplay, is having some difficulty in his little world. He sees the cracks and reaches for the poly fill, Whereas Dougie is completely off the planet.

Still very school yard in this section isn't it?

Ali, Fairplay hinted you are a liberty taker because you are, anyone with at least one squinted eye can see that

This Scottish thing looks like fun to me, I might even move up to Edinburgh myself just for the fun of it, it sounds like fun, all the ganging up that goes on etc.

And also, you've accused him of being a grass/nark about something, is that pure paranoia or do you have evidence that a dime has been dropped on you

See like I told you a few years ago, what comes around goes around, you can't rub these folks faces in it and expect them to take it, no doubt someone has bubbled you up but it won't be the one you think it is, it will be the one you least suspect, the silent assassin.

Anyway, I'll leave it there as I have no desire to repeat the slanging matches we used to have, but I will leave you this to ponder, I only read who you are from what you write on here, that forms me an opinion of a bullyboy who has to have his own way whatever it costs, one who doesn't play team an individual that during the war would be more interested in what he could gain for himself than fighting off the Nazis, now this doesn't mean it's true, this is simply how I see you from what you write, personally I'd rather be skint and loved than wealthy and hated, only you can change things about yourself if they actually need changing, might want to think about it as none of us live that long, just buried a man last week that 600 ppl attended his funeral, that was because he would always help you and people including me loved him, wouldn't you like to be remembered like that? might wanna think about things mate 8)

Peace.

A bit OTT Doom. Anyway to answer your question, he's paranoid, and so he should be ! (All his own makin'). I just regret that I was daft enough to tell him that it wisnae' me that grassed him. I should have let him stew !. I think he realises what a mug he's been, so as usual he tries deflective tactics. Ah well...

there is nothing to grass me for, you idiot....thats the point.
but you and Dougie think their is and in your pathetic pandering way just like raymond mackie have decided to object officially.
although i have had no intimation of such from the council, i only have what you said earlier to go by,when you alluded that i should be expecting a letter.
i asked you to explain what you meant and you didn't.
now you say that you haven't objected,so its just the usual empty bullshit.

as for typing names wrong well that wasn't me,i suspect the threads locked for a reason .

paranoid such a strong word and a ive no doubt a difficult one for you to spell and equally hard for you to cut and paste.
i prefer deeply grounded and highly suspicious,in which i have bucket loads and very proud of it to.
better that than being a mug that pays £50k for something he could have had for £1250.
or a dimwit who thinks he's changed the world simply by uttering what he believes it should be, like mr smith
