A 36-year-old man has appeared in court accused of abducting two women in Fife by pretending to be a taxi driver, a month after he allegedly raped a different woman at an address in Kirkcaldy.

Kemal Kemal is also accused of sexually assaulting one of the two women he is said to have coerced into a vehicle on April 5 this year.

He appeared in private at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court to face a total of four charges.

Kemal, of Kirkcaldy, is accused of raping a woman to her injury at an address in Kirkcaldy in early March this year.

Early in April he is said to have abducted two women and pretended to them he was a taxi driver, coerced them to enter his vehicle and thereafter refused to stop or let them exit the vehicle.

The alleged abduction is said to have taken place on roads in the Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes areas and the A92.

Kemal is accused of sexually assaulting one of the women he is said to have abducted.

He faces a fourth charge of driving a car while over the legal alcohol limit on the same date.

The alleged offending this month is said to have been committed while Kemal was subject to an undertaking to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court later in April.

Kemal made no plea during the private hearing and was fully committed and remanded in custody.
