So the council deregs. The drivers blank the bloke who dereged. So he says well stuff your rise then.

if the story is true one councillor has broken the law, declaring an interest is not enough the law requires him to leave the room.

I think this sort of thing happens time and time again in local government, the hardest thing is to prove it.
