Ive got that feeling, you know the one, when the odds stack up against you, and you see a sequence of events which - in your own mind - look as if theres a sucker punch coming?

I spoke to the licensing officer about my "past"
she said to pay the badge fee (£245) and put the crb forms+application in but wait for the crb to come back before proceeding......with the chance to go before the council if i get turned down, fair enough...

and if that fails they will return all but the crb fees

they send me the medical forms out, its only done at the occy health and is a full HGV medical, to drive a car...........mmmmm

then a letter comes about the next "theory/knowledge" test wont be on the 22nd, but on the 26th, but thats a bank holiday.....

so ive to book it - before the crb is back - or wait another month for the next one, or risk losing all my £245

id buy a window cleaning round, except im no good up ladders, so ill only be doing bungalows

well, Ive had a shock today, I requested my own police record report (£10) which came today, ive got little chance of getting passed as a driver!

3 court dates, 17 charges

burglary (shop)
crim damage
theft
TWOC
conspiracy

last conviction 1985, 12 month custodial

ive been badged twice (1990 and 96) since but cant see me getting passed after this

looks like the dole for me!

I think the best advice anyone can give an applicant who is unsure of the outcome of their application is for them to obtain legal representation or representation of a sound nature.

If there is a lengthy absence from any offence to the date of application then the statute of limitations on offences should be highlighted along with the reformed character of the applicant if indeed any character reformation was called for?

I wouldn't throw in the towel when you have three bites of the cherry available to you.
