Hello all, new PH driver here so dont jump down my throat... these might be daft questions but we all start somewhere ey
Basically, work round here is a bit slow so im applying for planning permition and an operators license so i can take my own bookings via a website advertising on yell/google etc.. ive had a lot of people asking me about airport runs/long distance work and i had a bloke in from universal music the other day asking if we had any luxury cars to ferry about some pop star from denmark..
Anyway it got me thinking, i run a good old Octavia but was wondering if there is anyway i could hire People carriers/Luxury cars etc for jobs? common sense tells me that i couldn't just hire a car from Hertz or whatever because it wouldn't be plated or insured for hire and reward.
Im sure there are all sorts of licensing and legal reasons why i wouldn't be able to do this but at least you can put me out of my misery and tell me why.

cheers lads

Every vehicle that is used for 'hire and reward' work needs to be licensed. Be that an Octavia or a top of the range Merc.

Doesn't apply to Weddings and Funerals, but everything else it does.

As for renting a nice motor from Hertz etc, pretty sure their conditions prohibit 'hire and reward' hirings.
