In a recent PH licensing crackdown, 2 undercover policemen flagged a VW minibus travelling along the Wellingborough Road, Northampton and asked the driver to take them to the Trumpet pub.
Upon arrival, they revealed their true identity and the local licensing officers stepped out of the shadows.

At which point they explained to the PC's that they had in fact flagged down a Hackney licensed vehicle.....

The driver wants to know, who's paying the £4.80...

lol. I'm sure the £4.80 will come out of expenses but if they kept on flagging down hackneys all night it must have been an expensive evening.

oh my aching sides..


id be claiming for the lost time giving the muppets a talk on what a taxi is and isnt.....i bet the driver was held for an hour...


i bet if the driver was being mugged and dialled 999 he wouldnt get through or there wouldnt be help to hand, all busy trying to nick naughty PHV's....



URBAN MYTH?

a guy rings 999, a gang of hoodies are breaking into his shed

"sorry sir, we have no available units"

he replies, "its ok mate, ive got a shotgun..." and hangs up

2 minutes later a helicopter, 2 motorbike cops, an armed response unit and a riot van all thunder to his house and 30 cops storm the shed, grabbing 6 drunken hoodies...

the head cop knocks on the guys door, he walks out...

cop - "i thought you said you had a shotgun?"

guy "and i thought you said you had no available units?"

As you can imagine, the driver in question has been rubbing the stick ever since!

I bet the plods felt like 2 hats...
