you should take the one that booked it and his choice of passengers...If he doesnt want to go he should still pay. and if there is another run to be had then the guy can pre book you by phoning you if he needs to if your PH or simply take the booking there and then if your HC. your under no obligation to take anyone who's name the booking wasnt made under. infact your not obliged to take any of them if they look like they may be trouble.. but The guy that booked should honour the booking...its not your fault they fell out.

Maybe....but what happens as does at many parties when the person on the phone books cars in his or her name for his or her guests?

Then the booking is a collective booking albeit in the name of one person representing the collective group.

That would be entirely up to yourself considering the person was part of the party that the vehicle had been booked for. However I'm sure that person wouldn't be the only one of the party who wished to travel home but if you are suggesting he was, then you are breaking no laws if you consider the fact he was a member of the group that the original booking was made for.

If you are asking whether or not it is legal, then I can only advise you that there has never been such a case brought before the courts and I think the reason why is quite obvious.

collective booking or not...take the get the name of the guy that books it. After you have located the person Responsible for the booking its up to them....as for the rest they can knock seven colours of S**t out of each other..its not your problem.

I guess the Key word here is "Commonsense"

Commonsense is the optimum word and under normal circumstances you would think it would prevail but in the circumstance where only one passenger decides to travel, then the driver would be within the law to take that passenger.

On a personal note I fail to see the point of the question? Anyone else subscribe to that train of thought?

If only one person wants to travel and they are not the person who booked the cab then it doesn't make it unlawful for them or any other member of the group to travel.

Wot and they didn't ask if one could travel in the boot or lie on the florr :D

It is never easy the best thing is often to offer to call out an additional vehicle to pick up the remainning passenger(s) trouble is it is often a no show for the second vehicle

If you have a legal booking for your car, the fact that only 1 of the party get in is neither here nor there.

If Mr Brown booked the PHV, then you take Mr Brown plus the person or persons that are going to the nearest address to the pick-up point, drop them of & then return with Mr Brown still in the PHV for the rest of the passengers.

Job done; what's the problem? Why does it have to be so complicated???

Done that thousands of times & as long as you capture the booker to return with you the other passengers are always there, because if they were to use another vehicle, knowing that Mr Brown was returning, they would phone Mr Brown on his mobile to tell him.

i can just see mr brown going back (assuming its feasible) and the "overs" waiting, and who pays if they aint there cos mr brown will have 3 times his original bill, thats if he wants to get home...

what if they are ALL "mr brown" (4 generations of the same family)....lol
