I'm not MrA, but unlike your previous post where you alluded to the fact I had something against gay folks, I welcome the pink pound every bit as much as the straight / black / asian and oriental pound.

Everyone to their own, live and let live is what I say.

I suspect we have many gay members within our trade, perhaps we should start a lesbian and gay section within the LTDA and see if we can break the 9000 members figure?

I cannot for one moment agree with statement. This is about what peoople have in common (ie - taxi drivers). It is not about the segmentation of the mass movement/ideals into splinter groups. Do we really need to end up like the Police where there are more ethnic minority associations that you can shake a stick at.

I never asked you to agree with it Mr E.

It was only a thought that perhaps Lesbian and Gay Taxi drivers would be uncomfortable approaching our drivers association which is mainly made up of white heterosexual males?

I think you'll find one of the representative bodies, namely the TGWU or whatever they're called this week, has an active G&L section which covers all the sections of the union including Taxi drivers.

Snippedquote]

I firmly recall Livingstone refering to London Cabbies as 'made up of white heterosexual males'. ....a statement made as to infer there is an existing problem, I do not see a problem here, do you?
If I am into fishing or shooting then perhaps I should also set up a drivers association with their interests at heart??????????? :D

Funny ! not a lot of people do agree with you.
The LTDA cant look after the members its already got. That's the last place gay cab drivers would want to venture.
Anyway we have our own clubs and associations and there better than yours.
