Now here's another puzzler for you all!

When the office opens I want to have 1 bandit machine and 1 skill question maching with multiple games on it. Now, I went to Wrexham council to ask if they needed a licence and was told that no taxi office was allowed to operate any gambling machines at all? Seems stupid to me when all the offices have gambling machines with some having 4 in there offices! Does anybody know if the council is correct and if there is any way around this stupid ruling?

I think the rules changed a year or so back. The ones with these machines must have grandfather rights.

We had a machine years ago for the drivers to play not for the punters it was lovely emptying it some of them couldnt wait to throw there money in it even when they knew how much was coming out of it.

Right, I emailed the gambling commision to find out what the deal is with fruti machines in taxi waiting rooms and here is there answer:

You cannot now apply for a permit to have a gambling machine in a taxi office/waiting room.

The last date you could apply for this permit was 1/8/06. Anybody that applied before this date has the permit for 3 years, so the last date anyone will be able to have a gambling machine in a taxi office will be the 31/7/09.

So there you go, cant have fruit machine in a waiting room, however I would think that it would be ok to have some sort of game machine that did not pay out money.

i was just gonna say that

a "games" machine (theres still a licence i think) , then put a drinks/choccy/sarnie vending machine in....
