'Goods and passengers' or 'goods and/or passengers?'

The acid test is how a court would interpret it - strictly as written or as it may appear to 'a reasonable man riding on the Clapham omnibus.' [Greer LJ; Hall v. Brooklands Auto-Racing Club (1933) 1 KB 205.]

I can carry goods and I can carry passengers for private hire or public hire, which I believe is hire or reward.
If it were passengers with their goods only then that is what it would state.

"carriage of GOODS for hire and/or reward" is the actual wording for "courier" work

spoke to my agent and he said no such thing as goods in transit insurance on my policy but if i was carrying a lost suitcase to a home adress or any other thing it would be covered by the passengers travel insurance or the airlines own insurance nothing to do with my insuance.

if you picked up a letter or package from say an office to deliver to wherever they should have the insrance in place for that it is not up to us to provide insurance for this

When you post a parcel with say parcelforce it is not covered by parcelforce, you have to pay extra for insurance over a very minimum sum. Therfore It could be said that when you are carrying the same package in a taxi the customer would need to insure the contents.

Or trying to make an argument where there isn't one.

That's where the law gets interesting.......Making an argument in court!

A substantial claim arising as a result of a courier job could well see you having to split the hairs to which you refer. A good lawyer, who could be on your side or acting for the other party, will use any ambiguity available to win a case for his client.
