Well I'm now working tomorrow to assist the situation.

I think some of the yellow boys assist anyway minus any LTI problems.

They'll be in exactly the same position though, many of the yellow badge drivers I know from City Airport drive new taxi's as well.

Don't suggest that the Minicabs can help out. :doubt:

Would be interesting to get their take on the current situation.

Can't see it in Cab Trade News though, as LTI fund that via adverts.

Extract from LTI Web Site:

"We recommend that drivers of the affected ‘56′ plate vehicles make arrangements to share or rent another black cab to mitigate their losses and retain an accurate record of any costs incurred. When the engineering investigation has established liability LTI will be able to advise affected drivers of what compensation will be available and from whom."

Take note of the wording at the end "From Whom" this means that if blame can be allocated to a third party supplier EG a wiring loom supplier, the legal action will be against the third party not LTI !

Also the wording "mitigate their losses" ,this means that you must prove in law that you did every thing possible to prevent financial loss ,proof of an individuals efforts in this area will be required in any Court action, keep records of "Rental Enquires" "Enquiries about Fault Resolution" etc etc.

Also LTI small print says "Vehicle Warranty does not cover loss of profit, business contracts, revenues, savings or any increased costs and expenses incurred by the operator of the vehicle"

In other words they are not liable for consequential loss !

I speak from experience ,record all ,guard the back door ,it will be an escape route for you know who!

Be Warned !!

If they wriggle out of any responsibility for this one, Bexley, their credibility will be zero.

Believe it or not the law is on the side of the consumer but generally any claim is brought against the retailer and not the manufacturer.

At last...a post of reasoned judgement instead of an hysterical kick at LTI,
