Hi Guys, From what a main dealer has told me this afternoon there is no plan to urgently plate unsold Fairway's/TX1's or 2's.

LTDA have told me the italian manufacturers of the engine are at Coventry and doing their own inspections but no news there.

I have made a decision that if no news by Friday lunchtime I am going to have to buy a TX2 to get back to work. By then if they haven't found the
fault they are never going to. It doesn't take that long to strip down electrics/engine etc. The PCO made the decision to take these off the road and therefore can't do a U-turn and say "don't worry boys go back to work"

I can't imagine the finance company will let me off the £15k owed, otherwise I might order a Vito which is about a 4 week wait.

Any more news will be back.

Don't rush into buying one of them mate. I had one and it was an absolute nightmare.

Having spent a lot of time running this in my head, if nothing done by Friday lunchtime I will be off to order a vito. If the TX4's come back into service I'll rent it out or sell it. Any financial losses will be reflected in my annual accounts and Mr Taxman might be nice to me.

If these cars are being recalled and are not fit for purpose, can't you get your finance company to sort it? Technically if you have it on HP it isn't your car so it isn't your problem.

In theory you might be correct. Its seems Lloyds are happy to defer the next payment whilst this is being sorted out, but other finance companies are not so keen. The LTDA are on the case and I will wait their legal advice on this.

Thanks for the acknowledgement GBC,
but please do not advise drivers to be militant and carry on driving on a stop. If the worst were to happen and a passenger dies in a fire the driver will be charged with manslaughter and that's a fact. If caught driving on stop the police will charge you with driving without insurance and touting and you will, under the new regulations have your bill revoked.

Your welcome Mr A.

This could be a whole new beginning?

I wasn’t suggesting that drivers ignore a stop note, just mooting a point that if every TX4 is pulled, and every owner ignores the stop, there's probably not a lot the PCO would or could do? :-k

It's similar to the balls up that occurred when SGS took over the testing side, and a few hundred Cabs kept working 'out of plate' as SGS couldn’t offer them an appointment for a few weeks.

I'd better stop, next thing I'll be telling people to 'Agitate, Organise, and Irritate' or whatever it was Terry used to say! :D

As a foot note, I counted at least 20 '56' reg TX4's out working tonight, all after dark.

You all remember the 100's of TX2's M&O's cannot sell ?? Many are sitting in their show room and dozens more on the roof at Brewery Road.

Probably because no one has bought them.

Some drivers did.

I think the big grills on the front give it away.

Nope, they were TX4's.

I guess the message is getting through, I only saw 3 out tonight, all 3 were on Dial A Cab strangely enough?

I would have thought DAC and the other circuits would have suspended work to the affected Taxi's?

If they are giving radio work to iffy motors then they are complicit if anything goes bang.

Obvious point, perhaps, but the circuits can't do anything about taxis working the streets?

Probably cruising as well, because they probably wouldn't get a warm welcome on the ranks.

Or perhaps 'warm' isn't the best word in the circumstances.

What the radio 56ers were doing is simple.
Not signing on;therefore the radio circuits are ignorant of what is happening.

Bad publicity for the circuits though.
