Ford galaxy wasn't around in 1993/4. The oldest ones are 1996 N reg. Must be a private plate.

No, I'm trying to say you need to actually remove the key to activate the steering lock.

But thats why they break the steering locks cosd the Keys been removed...

I think they had better be careful stating a mechinacal fault to be the answer when the police have possession of the vehicle for tests !i If the police come to a differant conclusion then there could be charges or questions to be answered

try leaving the Keys in and wiggle the steering wheel from side to side...on a few cars that'll make it lock in one place..
