You fail to point out the disadvantages of working with eastern European taxi drivers, which I might add have been well documented.
Such as poor communication skills that have lead to passengers being driven to destinations miles from where they wanted to be. Added to that the poor driving standards that have on occasions been the cause of needless deaths in circumtances that were tantamount to wreckless and irresponsible driving.
I don't believe most Eastern Europeans understand the fundementals of the taxi trade and neither do those teaching them.
A partial command of the English language is not good enough because the British public are entitled to expect a lot more in the way of communication skills when using public and private hire transport.
I expect my taxi driver to be skilled enough to resolve my problem when I am unsure of the destination where I want to be.
