That being the case his LA are out of order requiring a side loader.
As you say he should challenge it as an unreasonable condition.

He could also license it with another LA :wink:

I think he said he doesnt want to go HC

You should always be prepared :wink: and the licence may even be cheaper and he is free to work PH with it :lol: :wink:

Any suggestions as to a suitable wav for private hire but council policy says it must be side loading.

the only real difference bewteen HC and PH is colour here

(unless you really want the iconic london taxi)

white=HC other=PH

can obviously be the same model

(and HC need a meter)

the dundee wheelchair bound are now requesting rear loading vehicles (doblos) seems they dont like being turned around once in the cab,never heard of clutch problems with the doblo, dundee has more than most citys, the front tyres are the only complaint ive heard mostly from 04/05 reg cabs, check the good/bad/ugly thread here not a doblo in sight

Just a guess but is the problem with rear loading WAVs anything to do with rear end shunts meaning that the wheelchair bound passenger could become trapped in the vehicle?

If you ask the right people you will find tonnes of evidence to prove that side loading is unsafe for both the passenger and more importantly the driver.
