look at the page, look at the URL (the actual link)

be wary of phishing guys, never enter details other than via a proper "https" site with the padlock bottom right

if in doubt ring your bank/building society

I assume that this link came via an email starting something like "Dear Lloyds tsb customer"........

I get loads of these allegedly from all manner of banks every day. You should send the email to the security department at the bank that they are supposed to have come from but that takes time so I just delete them. Just replying with a load of rubbish shows these people that the email address they sent this to is valid and gives them a bit more information to steal your identity.

You don't have a TSB account! You really should open one. They are fantastic. As you don't have the time to open one yourself at the moment, just send me all your details and I will do it on your behalf.

Well done to you both for letting the phishers know that the email address they sent the message to was Kosher. Thats one more bit of information towards stealing your identity confirmed.

Of course they don't know you ...........yet. They do not neccesarily what your bank account details. These people are building up profiles of people so that they can use their identity to open accounts and obtain loans and credit cards using any information that they can get. The first that most people find out that they have had their identity stolen is when they apply for credit themselves and they get refused or they get a default notice. They check with Experion and find that they have umpteen loans and credit cards that they know nothing about. There is big business in identity theft and one of the easiest ways that it is done is by going through the dustbin that is convieniently left out on the street, usually at night for the bin men to collect in the morning.
