beautiful british name

So this lady is trying to protect our freedoms, and all you can do is rip the pi** out of her name. [-X

For the record, her, and her sister who works for the BBC, are fine people doing a good job.

And she's on Desert Island Discs this week. Friday morning, 9.00 am Radio 4.

The same could be said for many of those so-called premiership superstars.

i see in todays paper "BBC bosses £14,000,000 wages bill"

I wonder how many of the people moaning about Brand and Ross actually pay for TV licenses?

actually, they had money to fund the digital switchover in excess of the costs

Big BBC link made shoter

and who chases non-licence fee holders?

the bbc?

no, the goverment, not the BBC

who do you pay the licence fee to?

the goverment, not the BBC

who gets the money off me?

the goverment, not the BBC

now you tell me the two are independent of each other....

The money is collected by HMG and a GRANT is made to the BBC (less costs)

To collect alone in 00-01 cost £136,000,000

the licence is rise to £139.50 so...

it takes 1 MILLION licences just to cover the costs of collection (ish)

5% of the grant goes on the BBC website, which then transmits around the globe to non-licence fee payers......brilliant, give it away to others, screw us

The blind get a 50% discount, er hello, a teleVISION with no VISION is a fecking radio................

The British Broadcasting Corporation, which is usually known more simply as the BBC, is a UK based broadcasting corporation and is the world's largest broadcasting corporation,[1] employing 28,500 people in the United Kingdom alone with an annual budget of more than £4 billion.[2][3] The BBC is a quasi-autonomous public corporation as a public service broadcaster and is run by the BBC Trust; it is, per its charter, supposed to "be free from both political and commercial influence and answer only to its viewers and listeners".

and im the pope....

I've always advocated that rather than being license payers those paying the license fee should hold the status of shareholders. Each yearly payment should count as one share.
