I know its hard for you lot up north to understand but London's black cab has always been an Icon, even the Metro.

Well that's your opinion, It might be the case in lichfield, but in London the passengers do want a proper Taxi

As someone who has had two vitos although I have now changed to a VW transporter I have never been down to london (admitedly i do try and avoid taking fares to there) WITHOUT people trying to flag me down and on one occassion someone tried to jump in whilst i was unloading passengers and luggage at a hotel !

Its the sign on the vehicle that says TAXI that people are looking at not the vehicle although I believe the tourists do go for the iconic fx/tx shape

The VW transporter cab is better than the Vito I would say and maybe better than the E7

vito
E7
transporter

not long back some unkind sould slated some vehicles as "vans with windows", well im sorry, but all 3 above are, indeed, van based....

having said that, the merc at least can knock a "iconic" london taxi into a cocked hat for reliability and engineering quality....(maybe the E7 cant though...)

have you ever owned a vito ?

I averaged about £7500 a year in garage bills over the last 3 years with my vito the engines may be good but they go through cv boots bushes bottom ball joints at a rate of knots they are only reliable if you put them into the garage for at least one day a month !

I think he's referring to the non PCO version.

Nope, just one old lad from Harrow starting rumours on here to make himself look important.

The 'We' word should always be disregarded in any posts by 'Thomasthetaxi' or 'LondonJim' or whatever new name he's posting under today.

A bit like the 'Mann and Overton replating all their TX2's for use' story he posted during the height of the TX4 fiasco.

Did they?

Did they fook.

Were they ever going to?

Were they fook !
