Ok, it's bad enough seeing our work touted by the licenced PH mob in and around town but this evening i saw on two occasions vehicles with licence plates from way out in the sticks driving along touting for fares; one along Regent St, the other along the Strand!

Is this ever increasing problem ever going to get addressed ? How long before we start seeing physical assaults between taxi drivers and touts ? It turns my stomach when i've been driving around for a period of time unable to find a job but yet i have to see work which could legitemately be mine, touted from under my eyes by these incredulous, despicable blatant thiefs!

The inability of the enforcement officers to do their jobs properly is turning London into a free for all for all and sundry! PH touts, out of town PH touts, rickshaws running amok over pavements, riding up one way streets.........still, as long as they do increased "safety" checks on the licenced taxi drivers all should be fine eh ?

If they were Dartford Black Cabs, send the details into Richard Masset, they've been turning up a lot recently. Apparently one of the town’s hirer’s has been recommending touting up town to their drivers.

The Police are involved with this one.

I got a smack tonight outside the Royal Lancaster dragging a job out of a PHV merc. Mind you he got one back and he went down like a sack of $hit. Still got a good left hook.
But now I got a good black eye though.
Funny thing, his mate came over, I thought to pick him up but he got his phone out and took a picture of him on the floor, Laughed and went away.

It must be remembered that out of town car are actually allowed to pick up pre-booked work form anywhere.

Get their plate numbers and report them to their LOs, and see if the jobs are legit or not. A photo would be good too.

yup, understand that Sussex, these guys were actually drving along tooting at people and pulling over. The guy along Regent St tried 3 times (thankfully without much luck), it could be argued that he was trying to find his pre-booked customers but it certainly looked more like touting to me from the reaction of the people on the kerb, his manner etc.

Shall try and get photo evidence next time i see it happening.

Get some photos, bung them up on here, then someone can e-mail their LO and we can see what happens.

It was a bad attempt at some humour which was aimed at our South Coast contributer.
