Thanks for asking, My mother is 90 and has little or no memory left now. She is the last in her family so there is only me and my sister now on that side of the family and I never met granddad George.
I managed to go back quite away on my dads side of the family but cant get passed my granddad on my mothers side.

Is there no "little tin box" with all the old photos and documents?

most families have one

surely either the forces reunited site or a geneology site can help?

parish records?

birth/marriage/death records?
(hatched/matched/dispatched?).....
