5 starts to 5 destination?

the two councils i looked at plating in sent a list of the 30 main points and 30 main streets

the menu at our indian takeaway has more options...

They could be any 5 starts and destinations from about 300 roads so you do need to know all the roads and how to get between them. You don't just get a list of a few and have to learn just them.

go PH and buy a Widescreen satnav...then after your familiar with every nook and cranny go get your Hack licence

We are dual badged in my town so even PH have to pass the knowlege test.

We have drivers here that didn't need to do the knowledge test because they were already licenced when it came in. For those that have done the knowledge test they can have either a PH badge or a HC badge and can swap them at any time so long as they pay the fees to do so. If you haven't done the knowledge test then you have to do it if you want to swap your badge over. When I did my knowledge test the council gave me a list of 75 A to B places and I had to work out the shortest route to them. Also spot locations, licencing regs an highway code questions. When I got into the test I found there was only 5 A to B to choose from I was allowed to answer 4 and I only had to get 2 right it's a farce

If you want to earn a decent living in plymouth, you need to be prepared to work 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week, for the rest of your natural. The game is dead, like it probably is all round the country.

if you haven't done the test yet, don't bother.

It's only worth it if you have your own cab/plate, then you haven't got to find £200+ per week for your cab!!!!!!!!

I think in most areas drivers who rent will most probably keep going until the new year then jump ship and leave the greedy owners in the mire

I think you will find you need an enhanced CRB check.

And the difference is?

About £20.

Now you're being silly!

What's the difference between standard and enhanced?

Majority of the sections on my CRB show "Not requested" so I'd say Plymouth only do a standard CRB.

As far as I am aware, You need a standard disclosure for such things as a personal alcohol license and an enhanced disclosure if your work could bring you into regular contact with children or vulnerable adults. A mate of mine was applying for his alcohol license at the same time as he applied for his private hire badge. Bothe licenses were issued by the same council and he needed both CRB checks. He could not use the enhanced check for his personal license.

Seeing as you know Plymouth, would it be reasonable to expect around £100 average a day, if you were hitting the day peaks and early evenings or would it be a case of mainly working nights to grab the Union street etc fares to get that sort of return?
I'm very nervous of spending alot of outlay for something that is unlikely to pay its way in the long run, as not meeting a minimum of around £100 gross daily average could be risky for me financially.

If you have been made redundant then surely your income is a lot lower now than £100 a day, so what have you got to lose? :?

Unless you know of a section of employment that currently has loads of vacancies paying £100 a day. :-s
