Just had a phone call from Manchester police (not the ones in the US) , thanking me for my email, and they have said that the council will be looking into the paintwork saga, and once they have dealt with it then they the police will deal with the PH involved

They have photographic evidence of there own, with all the car reg numbers

There could be a lot of PH vacancy's going down there shortly

lol Skippy I had to laff at this one, good job your sense of humour is still holding up.

I had an enquiry about the displayed prohibition road signs at the Printworks Manchester outside where this illegal private hire rank was situated.

Here are the signs which I have stitched together for convenience.

There has been no further rank provision at this location since the illegal activity ceased on New years day but some private hire vehicles still loiter there, unofficially.

You would have thought that with all the Ballyhoo about the activity being legal that this sort of activity would now be common place throughout the city of Manchester. Obviously it isn't and wasn't legal and that is why the likes of Mr Manchester private hire cannot put the activity into practice without the help of the council and the police.

Reading all that has given me a headache!

TBH, I can see both sides of the arguement here.
Manchester council want people off the streets, we have all seen what it's like in any city centre at closing time.
However, it does not give manchester the right to act ilegally.

What's the answer?, I don't know.
However, I can understand why manchester have done what they have, they are trying to get people home in a safe, organised way.

Maybe if manchester council changed the by laws in thier area to cover this situation it may help.

And maybe if the council change the by-laws stating that if you were out of your home for longer than 4 weeks your house became their prophecy that would resolve the housing shortage....... I expect you would find that acceptable..

OMG my head hurts. Normally when I see post as long as this I start at the back and work forward but not this time. I started at page 1 and read it only to find out at the end that the illegal practice has ceased therefore no real reason to comment but that hasn't stopped me I'm glad it's stopped and that Mr Manchester has stopped spouting sh*te he was beginning to really get on my tit with his 'know all that knows nowt' attitude. I think though it would have been a laugh if hackneys could park up there in the taxi rank and somebody with a disabled badge to park in the disabled bay or better still arrange for some rather large trucks to block the loading bay so the PH cars couldn't get to the 'rank' just to see what happened. Oh well I feel better now I've said something after all that reading even if it makes no sense
